Ed Pierce Seminar, Parker Pfister, Sandy Puc
I just got back from the Captivated by the Light seminar this morning. I really enjoyed it. It was given by Ed Pierce, who is an amazing photographer, very funny and easy on the eyes. Over three hours there was A LOT of information being thrown out, with several video presentations. He also had a studio set up on stage. Lots of discussion on understanding light, quality and direction.
I LOVED the video on Parker Pfister - he is so cute and excited about photography and his work. He had me absolutely captivated taking photos of a tire swing! I LOVE that. I think that's what it's ALL about, LOVING what you do. It shows in his work! Sandy Puc was just as amazing, she went over how the organization Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep came about and it was very moving. The video had everyone in tears.
I highly recommend it to other photographers. It was well worth the $20.

One out of ever 160 Children has Autism
Just wanted to show the tile I made my mother-in-law. It has all of her grandbabies on it. It's not the best picture but makes me happy, and here's why... I'm soo thrilled at how awesome my nephew is doing. He turned four in April and is autistic. He's really doing awesome! He said my boys' names the other night AND said 'I love you' to his Mom.. It was SOOO sweet and awesome to hear his little voice, and so worth the wait.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, one out of every 160 children has autism and more than 25,000 U.S. children will be diagnosed with autism this year. :(
