My Amazing Thoughtful 5 year old Artist

My sweet 5 year old knows how much his mommy LOVES his art work. It always makes me smile, sometimes even jump up and down and celebrate. He loves when I put it on the fridge or near my computer desk on the wall. Sometimes we even frame his pieces. So my lack of joy at the viewing of his recent artwork struck my child as odd. After all, he got a fork out all by himself as well as a blue crayon and scraped his name in the wood on our kitchen table. Now EVERY meal I will get to see it, why oh WHY would I not be happy about it??
At least the little man has a smile on his face, cause I sure didn't when I saw it.

Oh no! I do have to say that his little man is quite impressive despite his choice of artistic medium and shows his ability to think creatively and outside the box? Maybe?

I'm so sorry about your poor table.

Hmmmm, don't know what to say to this one! I would be pretty upset too.... I like Dani's explanation, maybe he is just really creative??x

The little dresser that I carved my name into in the top drawer (when I, too, was 5-years-old)... it's sitting right beside me. Yeah, I got in trouble for doing the carving, but my parents have kept it all these years (30 years later). I now refuse to let my husband paint the natural wood... because painting it would eliminate my name (with the R backwards).
